History
Dissatisfied with the way that some of the supposed governing bodies of angling were looking after the interests of carp fishing, and also concerned at the way some of the international competitions were being organised, a group of well known carp anglers from around the world discussed the idea of putting together a group that would be able to advise and assist in events and rules for carp competitions, and also to promote the NO KILL policy of carp fishing. The inaugural meeting was held in 2005 at the CARP EXPO international show in Vienna organised by high profile angler and former World Champion Kurt Grabmeyer.
In attendance at the first meeting were Kurt Grabmayer (AT) Rob Hughes (UK), Jurgen Becker (Germany) Robert Raduta (Romania) Ardy Veltkamp (Holland) Ronni De Groote (Belgium) Phillippe Lagabbe (France), Dave Moore (USA) Gennady Mevdekev (Ukraine) Przemek Sydor (Poland) Christian Schlott (Hungary) and Ilya Aizikovitch (Latvia).
Everyone agreed that it was time that carp anglers had a body that could protect their interests.
