Raduta
on Fire with 17000lb haul.
Lake Raduta in Romania
has truly proved itself as a phoenix from the ashes as the
recent Romanian National Championships competition at the
prolific venue has shown (29 Apr – 4 May). Thirty pairs of
anglers fished a 5 day competition at the former world record
holding venue and landed an incredible 7859.6 kilo's (17,327
lbs) of carp. The winning pairing, Team Martoiu
took 1st place with 1106.1 kg (2438.5 lbs), with Alex
Lazar 2nd on 816.5kg(1800lbs) and Ionut Birsiu
3rd with 573.8kg (1265lbs). Seventeen fish over 44lbs were
landed with the biggest a common of 47.10oz and the winners
set a new European match record for the total weight of carp
caught in a 5 day competition.
The venue hosts the
ICFA Nations cup in September this year where 20 nations will
compete for the inaugural title of ICFA Team World Champions.
March 08
The
big news this month comes from ICFA representative Paul Hunt
in Canada who has let us know that you are now allowed to
night fish across the whole of Canada. This is great news
for St Lawrence anglers and means that you can fish at night
on both sides of the river now.
